Homeschool Montessori

Montessori homeschool curricula compared

Seven Montessori homeschool curricula side by side on price, ages, format, faith, refunds and whether you can see the lessons before you pay. Every price was read on the seller's own site on October 2, 2026.

By Owen WrenLast updated

We have bought none of these. We built the free sequence instead, so the Montessori sequence itself is free here, every published lesson in order with no account.

If you want a paid program, the short version is this. The cheapest way into the four core primary areas is Hometessori Basic, $60 on sale, as digital manuals and print kits. The most support comes from Child of the Redwoods, from $444 a year. Most of them let you read real lessons first, and almost none give refunds, so read the sample before you pay.

Who should look at which

These follow from what each seller says it offers. We can't rank them on quality because we haven't used them.

The seven, one at a time

Child of the Redwoods

Theme of the Month: $25 a month · Complete Curriculum: $444 a year plus a $62 enrollment fee · Unlimited: $588 a year plus a $150 enrollment fee

A membership for ages 2 to 9, organized by monthly themes rather than by subject. Complete adds teaching guides, the Lesson Explorer to search lessons by subject or skill, a lesson tracker, monthly office hours and a community. Unlimited adds an app and live coaching through the year. The FAQ says: "Our curriculum is secular."

Multisori

Primary Complete, PDF: $549 (regular $760) · Primary Complete, printed: $1,499 (regular $1,840) · Toddler Complete, PDF: $159 (regular $177)

A one-time purchase. Primary Complete covers math, language, practical life, sensorial, science, geography and art across four years. It follows what the seller calls the traditional Montessori scope and sequence. The Toddler bundle has four parts, from early math to toilet learning. Both Complete bundles include one semester of group coaching with AMS-certified guides.

Made by Mandi J. Zielinski, who describes herself as a "10+ year Montessori homeschooler".

Hometessori

Primary Basic: $60 (regular $120) · Primary Complete: $529 (regular $660)

Manuals with lesson presentations and scripts, plus print kits of materials to make at home. Basic covers the four core primary areas. Complete adds four more, from life science to arts and music, plus a record-keeping spreadsheet. Nothing physical ships.

The North American Montessori Center's site refused our reader on October 2, 2026 (HTTP 403). We couldn't check a live price or policy, and every cell says so. The last archived copy of its homeschool page is from April 17, 2026. It says the 3-6 Montessori Homeschool Program is currently unavailable and will return in a new format. Check montessoritraining.net directly.

Mathessori

Curriculum Library: $167, lifetime access · Full Curriculum Kit: $997

Math only, in three years: quantities and symbols from 2.5, place value and the four operations from 4, abstraction and fractions from 5.5. The library has written lesson write-ups, more than 50 presentation videos and flowcharts of the lesson order. The full kit holds the bead material, stamp game, bead frames and charts for all three years.

Montessori for Homeschoolers

Year 1: $150, digital or printed · Year 2: $350 as listed

A Christian curriculum, built, in the seller's words, for teaching "from a Biblical perspective in the Montessori way." Year 1 has 18 Bible stories with tray activities and 42 phonetic sounds taught through games. Math and sensorial follow traditional Montessori lessons, and the cultural subjects are woven into the Bible lessons. Daily lesson plans come with it.

Keys of the Universe

$400 one-time · or $415 in 8 or 16 payments

The one elementary course in this table, for ages 6 to 12. It has albums in nine subjects, from math and geometry to music and art, with video lessons and online mentoring. The FAQ says there is "no intentional religious slant" and that all religions are represented fairly. We found no refund policy on its pages.

The pairwise page, Child of the Redwoods vs Multisori, puts the membership against the one-time purchase, with the four-year cost of each.

Questions about Montessori curricula

Which Montessori curriculum is best for homeschooling?

It depends on the age and what you want to pay for. We haven't bought any of them, so we can't rank them on quality.

On the sellers' own terms, Child of the Redwoods suits ages 2 to 9 with coaching and a community. For a one-time PDF covering primary, look at Multisori or Hometessori. Mathessori is math only, and Montessori for Homeschoolers is a Christian program. Keys of the Universe covers ages 6 to 12. Read each free sample before you pay.

Is there a free Montessori curriculum available for homeschooling?

Yes. The scope and sequence on this site is free to read and print, with no account and no email. Every published lesson has its own page with the age, prerequisites, steps and next lesson. It has far fewer lessons than the paid programs so far, and it grows as we add them.

Can I see the lessons before I buy?

For most of them, partly. Multisori sends a 300+ page sample and Hometessori offers a 402-page preview. A lesson set by email and a 7-day trial come from Child of the Redwoods. Montessori for Homeschoolers has a sample week, and Keys of the Universe posts sample album PDFs. Mathessori offers a free toddler guide, not lessons from the library.

Which ones give refunds?

Few. The Child of the Redwoods terms say no refunds for any reason. Hometessori and Montessori for Homeschoolers make digital sales final. Multisori won't refund digital products for complaints its website or free sample could have answered. Mathessori's return policy covers its physical kits only, and we found no refund policy for Keys of the Universe.

How we checked every price

Each row was read on the seller's own product, FAQ, plans and refund pages on October 2, 2026. We wrote what the seller states and nothing else: no reviews, no guesses about course content we haven't seen.

Where a seller's site blocked our reader, or a policy wasn't on any page we could find, the cell says “Not published.” We recheck prices each quarter and change the date when we do.

Whichever you pick, the first month looks the same: a low shelf, a few works and a long morning. How to homeschool Montessori sets up that week before any box arrives.

If you aren't sure where your child fits, two minutes of questions give you a starting shelf for each child.
