Privacy policy

We keep your email address, and the answers you gave on the /start questionnaire, only when you ask us to email you something. Reading the site needs no account and no email.

This site is operated by Kindred Works LLC, a Minnesota limited liability company, which is responsible for information collected through this site. Questions: hello@homeschoolmontessori.com.

What we collect when you sign up

There are two signup forms: “Email me this plan” on the /start results, and “Email me the bundle” on the printables page and each lesson page. Each one sends us your email address; the bundle form also sends the age you picked. The /start form also sends your answers as a short code: each child's age in months and the option you picked on each of the six questions. It holds no names and no free text.

We use the answers once, to rebuild your plan for the welcome email. What we keep in our subscriber list is your email address, which form you used, the age band of your youngest child (so the follow-up emails match that age), the date you signed up, and, if they happen, the dates you unsubscribed, an email to you bounced, or one was marked as spam. We also record which of the follow-up emails went to you and when, so none is sent twice.

If you answer the questionnaire and do not sign up, the answers stay in your browser, in the part of the page address after the # sign, which browsers do not send to our server.

What we send you

The thing you asked for (your plan or the printable), then three short emails for your child's age on days 3, 7 and 14. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link and our postal address. We do not sell, rent or share your email address with advertisers.

Who processes it for us

• Resend sends our emails and reports whether each one was delivered.
• Supabase hosts the database that holds the subscriber list described above.
• Vercelhosts the site. Its server logs record each signup (your email address, the form and, from /start, the answer code) and are kept for a limited period under Vercel's log retention.
• Google runs Google Analytics 4, described in the next section.

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits. For each visit it records the pages viewed and the site or search that sent you, along with your device type and an approximate location. It also records that a signup or a printable download happened, never the email address. Google Analytics sets its own first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) to tell a returning browser from a new one.

If you are in the EU, UK, EEA or Switzerland, you see a cookie banner with equal Accept and Decline buttons, and analytics stay off until you accept. Elsewhere, analytics run by default; you can turn them off at any time with the “Cookie preferences” button in the footer, and they stop as soon as you decline. Your choice is remembered in your browser and you can change it at any time from that button. When analytics are off, Google Analytics is not loaded at all: no cookies are set and nothing is sent to Google.

You can also block Google Analytics with Google's opt-out browser add-on or a content blocker; the site works the same without it.

Those are the only cookies on the site, with one exception you will not meet: a cookie named hm_internal, set only by a link we use ourselves, marks our own visits so they stay out of the counts. It holds no identifier. Your analytics choice is kept in your browser's local storage under cookie_consent, and never sent to us. The printables download without a signup and store nothing in your browser.

Affiliate links

The site carries no affiliate links today. If that changes, each page with one will say so above the first link, and this policy will name the program and any cookie it sets before the first link goes live.

How long we keep it, and how to remove it

The unsubscribe link stops every email at once and marks your address so we never email it again. We keep the subscriber record until you ask us to delete it: write to hello@homeschoolmontessori.com from the address in question and we delete it, and tell you what we held, within 30 days. The same address handles a request to see or correct your record.

Children

The site is written for parents. The questionnaire asks for a child's age, never a name, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If a child has signed up, write to us and we will delete the address.

Changes

If the site starts collecting something new or adds a processor, this page says so before it happens, with a new date at the top.
