Botany Puzzles

Botany puzzles are wooden puzzles of a tree, a leaf and a flower for children of about 3.5 to 6 learning the parts of a plant. On October 5, 2026 a single puzzle cost $12.95 to $55.55 and a set of three $60.00 at the US sellers we checked. A real plant teaches the same names for free.

What the botany puzzles are for

The child lifts each part out by its knob, names it, and finds the same part on a real plant: roots, trunk and leaves on the tree; blade, stalk and veins on the leaf; petals and stem on the flower.

The puzzles are later than Montessori's books. Her 1900 lectures start plant lessons in the garden, with the real thing.

Questions parents ask about the botany puzzles

What are Montessori botany puzzles?

Wooden plant puzzles, each part a separate piece, used to learn the names of a plant's parts.

Which botany puzzle should I buy first?

The tree or the flower. The leaf puzzle has smaller, finer parts.

Are botany puzzles the same as the botany cabinet?

No. The botany cabinet holds leaf shapes for matching. The puzzles show the parts of a plant.

Before the botany puzzles, make sure the work before it is solid. The caring for plants lesson lists the signs that a child is ready to move on.
